The Lady in White, Part Two

The Lady In White
Part Two

Exploring the beauty that is the Mission Inn Hotel & Spa.
Its decor is so vivid & beautiful in all its details, the gold accents & bronze accents make a stunning statement to it's guests. This Hotel housed it's first guests in 1876, treating their guests to historic treasures of its era. The Grand Entrance has beautiful Black, Beige, Creme, & Gold Marble Diamond flooring, with hints of cherry wood. Your greeted with two stunning long mirrors, of course I had to sit in front of them & powder my nose as any Starlet would do.

The Grand Entrance Marble Diamond Flooring, was so captivating that I couldn't resit to take the opportunity to do a mini photo shoot down the middle of the hall. The Hotel has had some of the most famous actors & actresses of Hollywood's Golden Age from Clark Gable, Bettie Davis, Cary Grant, Bob Hope, to the lovely Ginger Rogers.
This Hotel has also been home to several films such as the Handsome Clark Gable in "Idiot's Delight".

A stunning historical hotel with gorgeous details & welcoming employees. As seen here I am wearing the Nicole Dress & Matching Nicole Tea Length Cape designed by Emerald & Palm, it was perfect for exploring this Historical Venue.

The Lady in White

The Lady In White

Part One

"Elegance is Beauty that Never Fades" - Audrey Hepburn

A quote that is fitting for such an elegant design by Emerald & Palm, as you know I am a huge fan of their Timeless Designs. The Nicole Dress has been featured on my blog before in Noir & in White, I recently stumbled upon the matching Nicole Tea Length Cape which is exquisite & a real statement piece. This Cape is perfect for Petite ladies, & the length is perfect for ladies like me who are on the shorter side. The Nicole Tea Length Cape is made out of lightweight fabric that is breathable during even the hottest times of the year.

Pairing this ensemble was very fun for me, I am a lady who loves to add accessories but, I always keep it simple. While I was watching an early episode of Mad Men I was inspired by one of Don Drapers lady friends who wore a Gold dress & a matching cape, I thought to myself "now that is gorgeous, I want a piece like that in my collection." Emerald & Palm created matching Tea Length Capes to their Nicole dress, it was like a match made in heaven. Betty Draper was my inspiration for tying my vintage scarf around the waist, I loved the way it looked on her. It was perfect for accentuating my curves, & it gave a little extra something to my ensemble.

The Nicole Dress is one of my favorite Classic pieces that I own, you can easily wear it anywhere. Wether you want to Dress it Up or Dress it Down. The quality of the fabric is exquisite, it doesn't stretch out for bustier gals & it hugs your curves beautifully. You can wear the Nicole's Turtle Neck Up or you can Fold it Down as I did. For todays look I dressed it up with the matching Nicole Cape, a Vintage Scarf, Pearl Bracelet, & a Pearl Clutch. This look is heavily inspired by fashion in the 60's from the Cape to the Silhouette of the Dress.
- Sophisticated & Timeless.

Rose Garden Strolls

A Walk Through The Rose Garden

My FiancĂ© & I went to the Botanical Gardens & took a stroll through its beautiful rose garden, sadly it wasn't in its full bloom but there was still some beautiful roses to be seen. I couldn't think of a better day to wear my beautiful Monte Carlo Dress, from Heart of Haute. This was my first time seeing the Botanical Gardens & there was so much to explore, after we took some photo's of me in the garden we walked passed a beautiful green house with some exotic plants, they were very tropical & colorful all the green surrounding it was just exquisite.

The Monte Carlo dress reminds me of the 1940's era, this silhouette is very similar to some of the Vintage Patterns you see at your local fabric department stores. It reminds me of the Day Dresses Women would wear to the store, all dolled up with their perfectly sculpted hair. The Buttons really caught my eye, when strolling through the beautiful dresses Heart of Haute has to offer. I love how darling they are, & how they button all the way down its a very classic style, the matching belt is the perfect extra touch to make this dress even more 40's.

I really wanted to play up that 40's vibe that you get from this stunning dress, I added a petticoat for extra volume under my skirt, to give it shape & that classic full skirt look. I remember looking through old albums of women in the 40's wearing darling little wrist length gloves adding an elegant touch to their day dresses, I wanted to incorporate that into my look. These little black gloves are not vintage, but they do resemble quite a bit of authentic vintage gloves. I adore the little bows at the wrist a very feminine touch. You can never go wrong with a chiffon scarf to tie around your neck or to protect your curls when your strolling around a garden.

The Monte Carlo Dress is made out of Polyester, its very breathable & light weight, I highly recommend it during Spring & Summer. It comes in this beautiful Lake color, as well as a few other shades. It is a full swing skirt style dress but I always say adding a Petticoat just adds that extra va va voom to your look! I love that it has some gathering by the shoulders giving a fuller look for bustier gals. It's quality is very good, & I am pleased with how darling it is & how much it looks like an Authentic 1940's Day Dress.

Old Hollywood Classics & Pin Ups!

Miss Imperials 2016

Classic Cars & Pin Ups

 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible

It was a true joy to pose in a beautiful 1956 Classic, as a young girl I was fascinated with Classic Cars from 1910 to 1960's. I have always loved Pin Up Artwork, so being able to create some iconic poses with this treasure was an absolute delight. A little Pin Up History Lesson it's important to smile & have fun, when you are posing with classic cars you want your curves to work with the cars curves. Remember to have fun & be confident, it makes all the difference!

Finding the Perfect Tiki dress for the Hawaiian Themed Pin Up Contest was a fun task, I worked with a wonderful brand through Etsy, called "Hearts and Found" they have a ton of patterns & fabrics to choose from, you can even mix your prints & create your own piece. We collaborated on my custom piece creating a beautiful two piece, this design is now named after me & I am truly honored. I wanted a piece that truly resembled the Sarong Dresses of the 50's, a high slit showing just enough classy sex appeal, with a darling sweet heart bust. This two piece is made out of soft cotton with a vibrant Hawaiian Novelty Print, its a PlaySuit with a detachable skirt.

I also collaborated with "Niccococreations" to make two custom Hawaiian Hair
Combs for my entry in the Miss Imperials Pin Up Contest.

Oh it would be a dream to drive around Beverly Hills in this beauty!
However striking a pose with it was just perfect enough!

Another Classic Beauty Featured

Here I am posing with another Classic Beauty at the Imperials Annual Benefit
Car Show with my award & 1st Place Sash!

As you all know I love a good shade of Red Lipstick I wore my current favorite shade from "Besame Cosmetics" in Victory Red which must have been my lucky lipstick because I won my First Pin Up Contest wearing it! For my Vintage Beauty portion of this photo series I went to my Photo Shoot Must Haves which is pretty much similar to my Everyday Look.
I wore my Cashmere Powder Compact in shade Porcelain, with their new Blush Line Delicate Rouge in shade Sun Kissed a shade popular in 1965. I used one of their trusty tips from their Make Up Lessons by using my Cake Mascara to fill in the natural hairs of my brows.

 1947 Vintage Mint Green Chevrolet

Spending the day with Classic Cars, Wonderful People, & being a Pin Up was such a delight, & I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to be apart of a lovely community. It's a wonderful feeling to be apart of such an empowering community of women & men, the era is truly a new one.
