Seeing Dots!

I have alway's loved Polka Dot's from cute little dresses to sweet little Dalmatian Pups! Lucile Ball was my inspiration for wearing Polka Dot's, as everyone know's Polka Dot's were like her signature look in the hit TV series "I Love Lucy", & she looked darling as always. I try to find Modernized pieces that really resemble true vintage piece's, as much as I love the Pin Up Look I prefer more of a Vintage Style.

I recently started adding accessories to my wardrobe like these Vintage Pearls I scored at a Vintage Thrift Store. Pearls have always been one of my favorite types of Jewelry aside from Diamonds of course. They are so elegant & add a nice touch to simple pieces like my Polka Dot Swing Dress. When I was a little gal, my nana would add pearls to my under garments to jazz them up a bit, or to my hair bows. I always felt like a starlet with my pearls & fake costume jewelry.

PettiCoat's, Pearls, Diamonds, 5inch Mules, Elegant CockTail Dish Hats, & HalfMoon Manicure's are a few of my favorite things.
This beautiful piece of Modern Vintage known as the Polka Dot Swing Dress by HellBunny Official was one of my very first Pin Up Dresses. At first I wasn't a huge fan of the Halter Top Style, but it slowly grew on me. Now I love wearing them during those hot Summer heat waves, or during those nice Spring days. The Fabric is so soft & not to thick making it the perfect dress for Spring/Summer, depending on your pattern preferences. The dress has adorable little features such as the darling Black Buttons down the bust & the Black Trim

I am absolutely in love with my Cocktail Dish Hat Fascinator from PinUpGirl Clothing it has such darling details such as the Black Feather Arrow & cute Bow to tie it together. It adds an elegant touch to any hair style, wether you were it with a Bun, Rita Hayworth Waves, or a striking Marilyn Pageboy. The Swirly Strip Pattern was fun to mix with the Polka Dot's on the HellBunny Swing Dress, its bold & daring! I am new to wearing hats, for quite sometime I thought my face shape just wasn't meant for them now I LOVE them!

Today's Make Up Details are my go to Essentials for a Quick Simple Vintage Glam using my favorite brand Besame Cosmetics. I recently purchased their Black Cake Mascara to coat my lashes, the texture is so unique compared to our new aged Mascaras. It's by far one of my favorite mascaras that I have tried, & it didn't clump up my lashes! Another new recent purchase that I made with them is their Signature Named Lipstick in shade Besame Red inspired by the 1920's cool blue toned based reds that the women would wear in that era. It's the perfect Matte Red, just like my favorite flower a Rose. I think this may be my New Favorite Lip Shade for everyday wear. As always I buff my skin with their Cashmere Porcelain Face Powder which gives such a nice velvety finish & a perfect matte texture.

Ooo La La.. Besame Cosmetics

Finding the perfect shade of Lipstick can change a girl's whole perspective on her look. I love a good creamy bold Red Lip, after years of searching for that perfect Vintage Shade of Red I finally found a Brand that has exactly what I want. As a Professional Make Up Artist I never really believed that only certain shades are meant for specific skin types. I believe that if you want to rock that Blue Toned Red Lip DO IT! As long as you love the way you look in it than that is all that matters.

Being a part of a Vintage Inspired Community helped me find the perfect Shade of Red Lipstick. Not only did I find my Signature Color but, I fell in love with several other shades as well. This Company is Family Owned & is One of a Kind. Besame Cosmetics was founded by Gabriela Hernandez she created a Brand completely inspired by the Classic Luxury Cosmetics of the 1920's, 1930's, 1940's, & 50's. A Brand that truly makes women feel empowered through their own beauty, I know when I dab my Lip Brush into my 1946 Red Velvet Lipstick I feel Confident & Elegant, just as my ancestors did in that era.

My Signature Besame Lipstick shade is inspired by the era 1946, it's a beautiful deeper red that is perfect for everyday wear. Wether you are grocery shopping in your foam rollers or heading to an elegant extravaganza. The texture is rich & creamy, semi - matte finish & goes on smooth with a one coat application. Oh & the best part of the formula is you hardly need to touch up! The formula is enriched with Aloe, Vitamin C, & Squalene.

My go to Mascara is their 1930's Black Mascara it's a deep but natural black that coat's all my lashes evenly & perfectly! The Creamy texture is wonderful it doesn't clump my lashes which makes it a gal's best friend. The formula is water resistant, & contains natural conditioning oils.

I wear two types of Powders for my Porcelain Sheen Complexion, I use their Beautiful Rose Gold Vintage Antique Inspired Cashmere Compact in shade Porcelain. Oh my it feels like a dream when applied, in photo's it's so beautiful & smooth. The texture is like satin in my opinion, its matte so no shiny spots yay! The formula is enriched with Vitamin C & formulated with Natural Zinc & Titanium Dioxide to help fight against UV Rays.

My second Powder I always use on my Highlighted areas such as my Chin, Temples, & Under Eyes. I use Besame Cosmetics Vanilla Brightening Powder, which is a Mineralize Powder that comes with an adorable powder puff for easy application. It has a Yellow Tint to help tone down any Redness in the skin, Brighten's up your foundation a bit, & has a lovely subtle Vanilla scent.

Jenny January Day 1

First Off Happy Jenny January!

I was inspired by one of my favorite Blogger's Miss Amy May,
to see how she pair's up her Jenny's be sure to give her Instagram a look.

Click Here for her Blog it's filled with Great Reads!

Today I am under the weather but, I couldn't miss out in at least telling you about one of my fabulous Jenny's! I instantly fell in love with the Mary Blair Train Print Jenny from the Vibrant Canary Yellow to the Beautiful Artwork. Being a huge Disney fan I was excited that PinUpGirlClothing created a line featuring beautiful Mary Blair Artwork, a Collection filled with Magic Color & Flair.

 California Adventure, Grizzly Peak

My favorite Experience while wearing this Jenny was the time I went to Disneyland. My first favorite experience at the park is when several Cast Members stopped to ask me if it was inspired by the work of Mary Blair or if it was hand painted because the detail was exquisite in design & color. Those two questions were dear to my heart because it not only shows how beautiful the skirt is but, it's also a great memory that Mary Blair inspired many artists & many people from her Bold Statement pieces wether it was her work with Disney or her Personal Designs & that it lives on in this modern time.

My second favorite experience wearing this Jenny Skirt is when a Little Girl ran up to me thinking I was the "Real Snow White" as she put it, & letting me know how extremely pale I really was in person. The expression she had when she truly believed I was her beloved princess was so sweet of course I didn't want to break her belief in me so I played along.

So there you have it my First #JennyJanuary post & I can't wait to put together tomorrow's look so I can post a never before seen image of me in my Jenny's!

DisneyLand, FantasyLand

To Participate in Jenny January like all your fellow Pin Up Girl Pals post an image or a few of yourself in your Jenny Pair Up from Today until January 24th. Be sure to Hashtag #JennyJanuary so everyone can see your pair up & your Jenny January Story.

MissVintageLady & Doll Me Up

Every Now & Then you come across a Great Skirt! I received the "Queen Bee" Skirt that has a pearlescent sheen to it. The stunning pearl white shade pairs perfectly with many hues, & compliments all skin tones. The Taffeta Fabric has so much volume that you won't need a petticoat, this skirt reminds me of something Audrey Hepburn would wear, simple with a touch of glamour. I always loved skirts & dresses, I hardly ever put on a pair of pants unless they are trousers. Even if it's 40 degree's out, you will see me in a skirt, dress, or even trousers as long as I have a good pair of Black Seamed Nylons & a Coat i'll be grand.

Finding the perfect top to compliment your favorite skirt can sometime's be a bit tricky but, Doll Me Up had me covered with their New "PussyBow Short Sleeve Top." The top has an adorable bow to tie along the neckline giving it a little something extra. The fabric is made of the softest cotton I have ever felt, it's like a dream. This top is available in a Long Sleeve Style, with two other color ways in Red or White. I paired this look with the darling "Aqua Nifty 50's" hair scarf, one of my favorite shades from Doll Me Up's Nifty Fifty's Hair Scarf Collection. The collection is inspired by the Vintage Scarves of the 1940's - 1950's era making them perfect for keeping your hair in place while cruising down Route 66 or adding a darling touch to your Vintage Locks.

MissVintageLady & Miss Hepburn

When I am wearing the Lady Lovely dress I feel like Audrey Hepburn, she loved a very simple well put together look. Simple, Chic, & Elegant are a few words I would use to describe her lovely style, wether she was wearing Givenchy or Dior it was always classic. When I modeled for Doll Me Up, I wanted to channel the sophisticated look that Miss Hepburn had. Two very iconic shades she would wear were Black & White, they complimented her very well & she alway's looked stunning. When I received the Lady Lovely dress in those two color ways, I was so pleased with the quality of the fabric, so soft & plush. The dress is extremely comfortable & has a classic silhouette for the most divine occasions.

Keeping a sharp classic look came easy to me, I try to execute a very classic look when I paint my face. So channeling Audrey was not hard for me, a Bold Brow, Sharp Lashes, Simple Winged Liner, & a Full Cupid's Bow Lip was the Key to mastering Miss Hepburn's Iconic Look. I went for a more modern Hair Style but still keeping it in the sophisticated 1940's era with some soft curls. Using a Vintage Inspired Cosmetic Line Besame Cosmetics their vintage inspired formula help's me achieve a soft velvety finish for a porcelain doll complexion, giving my skin a beautiful glow of a Hollywood Starlet.

Audrey was a classic Hollywood Starlet known for her exquisite beauty, & striking facial features, I myself have been told that I resemble a bit of Hepburn in my facial features, which is such an amazing compliment to receive. In her film "Sabrina" she wore an amazing Black Dress that I feel the "Lady Lovely" in Noir resembles so much but with a Modern Twist, for the daring Femme Fatale's out there. The Lady Lovely dress has a deep V Line & Open Back, featuring a metal zipper. To be in the same decade as the beautiful Audrey Hepburn would be a dream, however living through her films will do just nicely.

Dresses on Myself are available on Doll Me Up's Website, their company logo is on my Blog, on the Sidebar located on the right, click it for direct access to their shop.

Cherry Fields Forever!

As it is no longer summer I never had the chance to share my 1st PinUpCouture purchase which is the lovely Cherry Border Jenny Skirt. As soon as I saw this skirt I knew I had to have it, I actually love Cherries they are so tasty & great to snack on during those hot summer days. The Jenny Skirt is gathered beautifully & looks lovely with or without a Petticoat, it cinches my waist wonderfully as well. The fabric is not stretchy so I highly recommend looking at the size chart for correct sizing, it's a nice soft material so I can get away without wearing a slip hehe! Here I paired up the skirt with a Knitted Crop Tank soft knit material that looks nice with the Red contrast. My go to Hair Accessory is a Red Chiffon Hair Scarf this one is smaller than most scarves so it doesn't make a bow, however the Knot style is still very cute! Pin Up Girl Clothing offers so many beautiful designs in their Novelty Skirts section so stop by their website PinUpGirlClothing & get yourself some gorgeous skirts!

MissVintageLady for Doll Me Up

It's Official this is my first blog post of the New Year & I couldn't be more excited to share with you my Tips & Tricks, Beauty Product Favorites, Icons, Favorite Locations, Weekly Outfits, & well anything Vintage to Modern Vintage. So since this is my first blog post I thought I'd share a few snap shots from my shoot with Doll Me Up. Here I'am wearing the Kiki Top which is a show stopper, the deep V neckline is flattering to all bust sizes & one of my favorites. It's paired up with the Pretty Pleats Skirt that comes in a variety of hues, the fabric is so soft & comfortable perfect for all day outings! *I always pair my circle skirts with PettiCoats* I am wearing my favorite Vintage Black Luctie Mules I found at a local shoe store where I was lucky enough to get them in White & Silver as well. Shop These Styles at or see the DollMeUp Logo on my blog homepage!
Vintage Inspired Make Up & Hair is my favorite things to do especially when it turns out the way I want it. Some day's are not so great but, when they are perfect selfies are a must! Some of my go to products are American Doll Liquid Lipstick & a great brow product Granite DipBrow + Clear Brow Gel. A Classic Clean Red Lip & a Bold Brow are my must haves! A good stiff hair isn't to bad either so I've been using a lot of Sexy Hair Spray & Play with their H2NO 3 Day Dry Shampoo to eliminate any unwanted shine from day old hair or if your in-between hair styles for multiple looks. For my curls I set my hair using my 1 Inch Hot Tools Curling Iron & setting it with my pin curl clips allowing them to cool before brushing out. I use a Boar Bristle Brush to brush out my curls & smooth them into place, plus a little teasing in flat areas to give it more bounce & body. Finish Off with Hair Spray for Hold & that's how I curled my hair for this shoot.
